The Crofton Warriors snapped their losing streak with wins against Niobrara-Verdigre and Creighton, taking home the Knox County Tournament’s third place trophy.

The tournament was held at Creighton High School on October 13 and October 14, featuring Santee, Wausa, Niobrara-Verdigre, Bloomfield, Creighton, and Crofton.

To kick off the Knox County Tournament for the Warriors on October 13, they took on Niobrara-Verdigre winning in two sets 25-12 and 25-15.

For the second game on the same day the Warriors lost to the Bloomfield Bees in three sets winning the first set 25-20 then losing the next two sets 17-25 and 18-25.

The third and final game to decide third and fourth place was a matchup between the Warriors and Creighton Bulldogs. The Warriors came out on top, sweeping them in two sets 25-18 and 25-22.

Sophomore Emma Kuchta said, “Our attitude and team chemistry was better getting these wins in the tournament.”
