Despite not taking care of the ball, the Lady Warriors pulled out a win over the Wayne Lady Blue Devils (48-38) on Tuesday, January 20 at home.

The Lady Warriors were led by senior Jaisie Janssen with 25 points and 15 rebounds. The first quarter looked promising for the Warriors with their 15-5 lead over Wayne, but the second quarter took a drastic turn. Addison Frank(#21) of Wayne hit three 3’s to turn the score around, putting the Blue Devils only down by five at halftime(25-20).

The Warriors had a rough start to the second half and continued to struggle throughout the whole eight minutes. Senior Jacee Anthony stated, “We just needed to lock down and get a few stops so it could lead to our offense, and so we could score and keep the night going and keep the lead.” At the end of the quarter the Lady Warriors were down by three going into the fourth. Coach Moon reminded the girls “that even though they weren’t playing their best, they still had a chance to win.”

During the fourth quarter, at the 5-minute mark, junior guard Seanna Pinkelman hit a crucial three to turn the momentum back to Crofton. They then went on an 11-0 run with minutes left in the game.

The Lady Warriors were able to hold onto their lead over the Lady Blue Devils to get their 13th win of the season (48-38).
