The newly-formed Plainview-Osmond Pirate junior high volleyball team launched their inaugural season in the early part of September, with the co-op team pushing more than 30 players.

“It's been so fun seeing all 32 girls come together to play as one team and support each other,” said Coach Whitney White.

On Thursday, September 4th was the team’s first game, played in Osmond against O'Neill.

The D team split sets with O'Neill winning the first one 25-22, and losing the second set 22-25.

C team also split sets, winning the first one 25-19, but losing the second 22-25.

The Pirate B team lost in two sets, 15-25 and 22-25, but showed a lot of improvement from the first set to the second set.

The A team lost in two sets, 16-25 and 22-25, also showing improvement throughout the game.

Vs. Tilden

On Monday, September 8th, the Pirates traveled to Tilden.

The D team won, 25-20 and 25-13, and the C team also won 25-22 and 26-24.

The B team took it to three sets and came out with the victory. Set one was 25-13, set two 18-25, and then dominated in the third set 15-7.

The A team played hard and also took them to three sets but lost in the third. Set one was 25-20, set two was 18-25 (lost), and set three was close but lost 11-15.

Vs. Creighton

On Tuesday, September 9th, the Pirates played in Plainview against Creighton.

The C team won in two sets. The B team won in three sets, 19-25, 25-21, and then won the third 15-7, and the A team came up short but is showing so much growth. They lost 16-25 and 20-25.
